On April 26, Governor Deal signed into law House Bill 1129, which will allow Fort Mac LRA to create public-private partnerships and execute 99-year land leases on its property. This new legislation expands and enhances the ways that Fort Mac LRA is broadly empowered to encourage economic development on and around its 145 acres of the former Fort McPherson Army post in Southwest Atlanta. The organization is fortunate to have the support of the city and state in doing so.
