Fort Mac LRA announces its first tenant, a community-focused art organization known as Wolf Idea Group, founders of the popular Artlanta Gallery in Adair Park. The group will occupy 2,248 square feet of repurposed historic space, as redevelopment efforts continue on the surrounding property. Their new presence at the property was marked with the first of many art-centric events, “What the Truck” Food Truck and Art Shop Pop Up, at the historic site on July 8.

“We see the vision and promise that the redevelopment of Fort Mac offers to the surrounding community, and are excited to be one of the first to show our support for its future,” said Tyree Smith, founder of Wolf Idea Group. “We are excited to play a role in that vision, and to bring local artists into the effort, as we produce events with heart to help uplift the Fort Mac community.”

The space at Fort Mac will serve as Wolf Idea Group headquarters and showroom, where it will sponsor and coordinate one-of-a-kind, art-based events and programs throughout the year that will engage the surrounding community and assist in the activation of Fort Mac. The group recently completed moving into its new space, an adaptive reuse of a circa 1880s residential space in the former Army post’s historic district, and has already begun community outreach in the surrounding neighborhoods. Programs to come include culinary arts, children’s art, photography activations, and more.

“The Wolf Idea Group has an impressive history at Artlanta Gallery of creating sustainable artistic events that appeal to a wide range of people, and we are looking forward to working with them in creating and promoting interactive art experiences that will bring people from our surrounding communities onto the property at Fort Mac,” said Brian Hooker, Executive Director, Fort Mac LRA.

About Wolf Idea Group

Wolf Idea Group utilizes art to improve outlooks inside their community, beyond their community, and around the world. Their first major establishment, Artlanta Gallery, was founded to provide exposure for under exposed artists, to provide an alternative urban space where people can create and collaborate, and to provide enrichment for the surrounding community. Wolf idea Group has opened a new facility at the former Fort McPherson to bring their unique artistic experiences to the communities around the closed Army post.
