Fort Mac LRA is a local government agency entrusted with the catalytic redevelopment of 145 acres of the former Fort McPherson.

We are Fort Mac LRA, also known as the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority (MILRA), a local government agency created by the State of Georgia, entrusted with 145 acres of the former Fort McPherson and its catalytic redevelopment. For the first time since the closing of Fort McPherson in 2011, we stand with great anticipation at the doorstep to a new future for not only the former post but for the surrounding community, which is hungry for reinvestment. On June 26, 2015, Fort Mac LRA became the owner of 145 acres of property on the former Fort McPherson in Southwest Atlanta, Georgia. We are responsible for ensuring quality reuse and redevelopment of 145 acres on the former Army post. Our board of directors—nominated by the Mayor of Atlanta, the Fulton County Commission or the Governor—provide leadership as we are broadly empowered to utilize a number of incentives and financing tools to enable investment, facilitate job training and housing rehabilitation programs, and otherwise work to achieve our economic development mandate. Fort Mac LRA envisions a walkable, mixed-use retail development, a vibrant historic village, office or medical office space, and market rate multifamily developments. We are working closely with partners such as Urban Land Institute, Atlanta Regional Commission and Invest Atlanta, as well as our surrounding community and our neighbors to redevelop the site in a way that catalyzes economic development, revitalizes the area and empowers its community. Our Location

Fort McPherson is situated south of Atlanta, between two MARTA transit stations, and just a 10-minute drive from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The site is ideal for sustainable, transit-oriented redevelopment. We are adjacent to a world-class film and television studio (currently under construction) on 330 acres of the former Army post. Our 145 acres and existing buildings are divided into seven redevelopment districts: Historic Village, Production Supported Retail, Office and Medical, Lee Street Retail, Residential and Office, Campbellton Mixed-Use, and Residential and Commercial. Buildings and land are available for lease and redevelopment.
